Thanks for Celebrating with us 🥰

Dear Friends of White Snake Projects:

We are still heady from the gorgeous performances of Let’s Celebrate!, at WGBH’s Calderwood Studio. What a show! It was an occasion of many firsts for us – first time performing in a TV studio before a live studio audience, first time streaming live to a national and international audience. And you our studio audience, what a treat to have you there cheering us on.

What stands out to us as we look back are the young people from all backgrounds who came out for the show. And the children, how cool was it to have young kids sitting in the front row asking for popcorn and taking it all in (and being terrified by Demon Nian!)

We had a “Holiday Wall” where audience members posted their favorite holidays. Here’s a lovely picture of the Wall! We had a huge contingent of students from Boston International Newcomers’ Academy, a Boston public school servicing immigrant families. They came out to support Samiir Muhamed, a BINCA graduate whose true story is the basis of Samiir’s Feast, one of the operas in the series. Samiir, through his story of endurance, resilience and triumph, is a role model for all young people striving to overcome.

The verdict is in: We need to make Let’s Celebrate!, an annual event.  Thank you all who made a contribution to support this show. We respectfully ask everyone who has not given yet to please make a year-end gift to support White Snake’s impactful programming.

We wish you the very best for the upcoming holidays. Celebrate with joy in your hearts, and love in your souls!

Be safe, be well, be celebratory,

Cerise and all of us at White Snake Projects, An Activist Opera Company
