About

Show Out Boston!

Show Out Boston! is White Snake Projects’ dynamic youth arts community engagement program featuring Boston Children’s Chorus, Boston Music Project, Transformative Culture Project, The Record Co, Zumix, Boston Arts Academy and other organizations from across the city, including Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, and East Boston.

The Inspiration

We dream of joining hands with Boston’s many grassroots communities in making art together.

Many youth organizations can become “siloed” as they work to develop their own constituencies and fulfill their individual missions under challenging conditions. We are working to open collaborative channels among these mission-aligned organizations by giving them a common platform to showcase their young artists. Show Out Boston! is a first step in listening to and building trust with youth arts organizations, with a goal of co-creating operas written, composed, and performed by young people. These works will be thematically and aesthetically relevant to youth, with the music being hip-hop, jazz, pop, and/or other genres. We are excited to produce these operas on our mainstage in predominantly white spaces to show out and show off the brilliance of our community artists to new audiences.
