The Book of Revelation ends at chapter 22. Or does it?

REV. 23 is the hitherto unpublished last chapter of the Book of Revelation as dictated by St. John the Divine and transcribed by Cerise Lim Jacobs. It narrates the last battle to recapture Paradise-on-Earth and restore the balance of good and evil to our world. Persephone, the only being able to pass freely between Hell and Earth, is recruited by Lucifer in the fight against the rulers of Paradise-on-Earth. No one is exempt from this battle. Which side are you on? READ THE FULL SYNOPSIS...

The Inspiration

“I dreamed up REV. 23 one day as I was thinking of where I would meet my husband Charles again since he passed from this world.”

It amused me that my incorrigible, irascible and impossible husband wouldn't be caught dead (pardon the pun) in Paradise (not that he'd be entirely welcome there) as some of the most interesting people seem to be consigned to that other place. This led to more musing about what Heaven was like and concomitantly, what that other place was like. READ CERISE LIM JACOBS’ INSPIRATION...

Thoughts on Hurricane Irma

I’m sitting in a beautiful NE Fall day waiting for REV. 23 rehearsals to start. It’s hard to believe—almost surreal—that just south of us, Hurricane Irma has made landfall in Florida. Read More

Director’s Note: Mark Streshinsky on REV. 23

I first met Cerise Jacobs after one of my productions with Boston Baroque. She hugged me and told me how funny the show was (yes, Baroque can be funny!). I told her I liked to do comedy and got really antsy when I couldn’t find anything in an opera for the audience to at least chuckle about… Read More
