Requiem for America exposes the genocidal founding of America across the 50 states (plus DC), in a series of 3 interlocking works.
Each Requiem consists of 18 movements and opens with the same Movement #1, “The Doctrine of Discovery,” which authorized colonizers to subjugate Indigenous peoples.
The 17 movements that follow focus on illuminating a specific genocide in each state, juxtaposing genocidal texts from America’s founding against historical letters from American Indians themselves.

Spitting Sand is a work of resistance.
Through music theater, dance, and puppetry, it calls out the repression, cruelty and suppression of free speech, artistic innovation and intellectual freedom using the Cultural Revolution in China as a powerful metaphor for what is happening to democracy in the world today.
The work explores the First Amendment through its absence: By diving into the diktats of totalitarianism, we see its absurdity as human beings struggle against mind control and learn to “polispeak.”

I Carry the Dream, is a sequel to composer Jorge Sosa and creator & librettist Cerise Jacobs’ acclaimed immigrant opera, I Am A Dreamer Who No Longer Dreams.
Their vision is to develop a unified, organic work, presented as a double bill in Boston in 2028. The original opera would be performed in a matinee, followed by an evening performance of I Carry the Dream after a dinner intermission.
