“Clarinetist Yhasmin Valenzuela-Blanchard enjoys a versatile career as a performer and music educator throughout New England.
As an active performer, Yhasmin’s musicality is communicated through her warm and heartfelt sound in her orchestral, solo and chamber music performances. She is currently a member of the Boston Chamber Symphony, Cape Ann Symphony, Lowell Chamber Orchestra and Apollo Ensemble of Boston. When she is not performing in concert halls, she can be found collaborating in the vibrant musical theater scene in orchestra pits and other ensembles in the Greater Boston area.
As an advocate for new music, Yhasmin has performed in the premiere of many new works as a core member of The Boston New Music Initiative and Sonic Liberation Players.
Her chamber music recordings can be heard on Navona records.
Hailing from Lima, Peru, Yhasmin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Conservatorio de Lima “Josafat Roel Pineda”, a Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University and a Graduate Performance Diploma from Longy School of Music.”
