Ty G. Bloomfield is a composer and curator whose works encompass themes of social dynamics and emulations of art while engaging audiences in immersive sound experiences through electric and virtuosic soundscapes and improvised-like melodies. His works have been presented at festivals and venues such as the Ear Taxi Composer Festival, the McNally Museum, the Composers Conference at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute, Lake George Music Festival, the Dublin International Chamber Music Festival, the International Clarinet Association New Music Weekend, and the RED NOTE New Music Festival. He has collaborated with artists such as the JACK Quartet, Hypercube, the Conference Ensemble, One Found Sound, The Rhythm Method, the KAIA String Quartet, Unheard-Of//Ensemble, PART, Terracotta Duo, Lati2de, the Cincinnati Song Initiative, the George Shirley Vocal Competition, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Inc, the University of Michigan Philharmonia Orchestra, New Music Chicago, the Sing Me a Story Foundation, the Prison Creative Arts Project, clarinetist Berginald Rash, and oboist Jillian Kouzel among many others. He is the recipient of a 2025 Fromm Foundation Fellowship, the Karen Slack Prize, the One Found Sound Emerging Composer Award, a NATS Mentorship Program for Composers Fellowship, a 2024 SCFP Fellowship, the Dorothy Greenwald Fellowship, a JACK Studio Fellowship, and the Harlan Peithman Award. He has received additional recognition from Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Third Coast Percussion, Louisiana State University, and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Bloomfield holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Illinois State University.
