Terry Hedin, native of Minnesota, was recently released from federal prison after 38 years of incarceration for bank robberies. Besides being a poet, Terry is a woodcarver and visual artist. “I have always felt the need to create, even growing a tomato and marigolds in Cup-a-Soup containers on the windowsill of my cell during 9 months of Covid lockdown.” One of his joys since release is the freedom to access all types of medium and he continues to write poems. “I thank PEN America for choosing my poem.”
