Melhim Bou Alwan

Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, I moved to the US in 2010 to pursue my medical training in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. I currently practice Hospital Medicine at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center and in addition to my clinical responsibilities, I oversee my group and 2 local nursing homes. Some of my passions include patient safety, quality improvement and healthcare provider burnout prevention. I was very fortunate to receive a masters degree in healthcare management from Harvard University to fortify my skills in these areas. My days of local and international volunteering as a medical student in Lebanon and the resilience I amassed from growing up in an eternally challenging place prepared me very well for this extremely trying year.
