Jonny Incipido is a versatile composer and producer whose work encompasses concert music, applied composition, and dance. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with Applied Emphasis in music from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities- College of Liberal Arts- School of Music, playing the cello and viola, and a Master of Music in Technology and Applied Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Jonny’s creative portfolio includes producing evocative Western Art concert music and scoring short films, with plans to add animated works to the mix.
He has showcased his compositions at festivals such as the Hot Air Music Festival and high caliber musical spaces like the Curtis Institute of Music, where he presented his ability to
blend traditional and contemporary musics into an audience appreciating form. His collaborations extend to projects such as “Larry, the Musical”, where he contributed as a music assistant. His dedication to fostering creative communities and interdisciplinary collaboration shows while working in the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Heritage District, with Boris Goldmund for his Monthly Salons, and under Dr. Cyril Deaconoff for his vocal ensemble, the Voices of Silicon Valley. In addition to his musical work, Jonny has engaged in dance and choreographing, merging his musical and dance expertise to create immersive artistic experiences.
As a queer Cebuano-Filipino adoptee, Jonny’s identity profoundly influences his artistic vision. He strives to amplify underrepresented voices, exploring themes of belonging and cultural resonance. His music serves as a conduit for inclusivity, aiming to connect, inspire, and empower audiences by bridging diverse perspectives. Through his work in both media and live performance, Jonny continues to push the boundaries of his craft, creating art that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. His dedication to storytelling and community engagement underscores his belief in the transformative power of music and art.
