Mrityunjay ‘Jay’ Sathyanarayanan, (b.1996) is an Indian born composer, producer and multimedia artist. His creative output spans various genres and mediums: composing for contemporary classical settings, film, theatre, while specializing in electronic music and sound design for interactive AV installations.
His works have received performances by the Beijing Central Conservatory in China, the Quince Ensemble, the Arx Duo, Association EVI in France and various groups at the Boston Conservatory. Passionate about collaboration and multi-disciplinary projects, he has worked under artists such as Sivamani, Ustad Zakir Hussain (Berklee Indian Ensemble), Cycling ’74, Moog Inc, and continues to collaborate with artists around the world.
With a degree in Music Composition from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Jay has studied under Marti Epstein, Timothy McCormack, Dan VanHassel, and continues to work as an Audio Specialist at the Conservatory, while teaching Electronic Music at Wellesley College. He also holds a degree in Philosophy from Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education and is the co-founder of Āyāhi, an experiential art atelier involved in multimedia art and immersive experiences, based out of Pondicherry, India.
