Deirdre Viau received a Graduate Performance Diploma in Flute from the Longy School of Music. She studied flute with Julia Scolnik and Vanessa Mulvey, and jazz improvisation with Peter Cassino. An enthusiastic proponent of New Music, Ms. Viau is a core member of the Boston New Music Initiative. She has also performed modern chamber music with the flute/viola/harp ensemble Trio Notturno.
